Thia Luby, E-RYT, award winning author and owner of Yoga Imaging LLC will present a donation yoga class/trunk show on Sat., February 19 at Yoga Pathways Studio. Proceeds will benefit the Elkanah Children's Orphanage in Mamallapurum, India.

There are 30 children who are in need of our help in this orphanage that Thia met in her travels to India in 2010 and is dedicated to supporting. The children range from ages 3-15 and are not adopted out. They are raised by a loving Indian couple, Reverand C. Bilaventhiran and his wife, Lakshmi. He is a Christian minister in their town and is devoted to these underprivelaged children. They are raised in the orphanage until age 17, and then helped on their way to higher education.

These children live a very simple and humble life and need the basics to survive. Thia just shipped a large box of used clothing, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrushes, etc. for basic needs. She is trying to raise money to help with these costs and give more for food and other care packages in the future.

This yoga benefit/event is appropriately titled, "Spread the Love" and will focus on one of the "Yamas" (moral codes), aparigaha (non-greediness) for spiritual development, as we embrace our yoga practice with a new sense of awareness in giving kindness to ourselves and others.

The trunk show (11:00- 1:00 pm.) will feature clothing from Nepal and India, along with unique items (jewelry, etc.) from all over the world. The donation yoga class is from 1:00-215 pm. All levels of students are welcome to join us for this uplifting spiritual event, please come and support this worthwhile cause.
